Time for Bed

It was time for bed. Edward was very tired. He turned off the TV. He turned off his computer. He turned off the dining room light. He went into the bathroom. He brushed his teeth. He went into the bedroom. He put on his pajamas. He got into bed. He put his head on the pillow. He pulled the blanket up to his shoulders. He thought about all the work he had done that day. He thought about all the work he had to do the next day. He closed his eyes. He thought about his vacation in three months. That would be so nice.

Walking the Dog

KITTY: Where are you going?

MAY: I have to walk the dog.

KITTY: What kind of dog do you have?

MAY: I have a little poodle.

KITTY: Poodles bark a lot.

MAY: They sure do.

KITTY: They bark at everything.

MAY: They never shut up.

KITTY: Why did you get a poodle?

MAY: It’s my mom’s dog.

KITTY: So she likes poodles.

MAY: She says they’re good watchdogs.

A Stomach Ache

CHARLENE:     You don’t look so good.
MEGAN:           I have a major stomach ache
CHARLENE:     Did you eat something strange?
MEGAN:           I had spaghetti with clam sauce for lunch.
CHARLENE:     Maybe you have food poisoning.
MEGAN:           Yes, that could have been it, but I haven’t been feeling that great for the past few days.
CHARLENE:     Are you under a lot of stress?
MEGAN:           Not really. Things have been going OK.
CHARLENE:     Maybe you have a touch of the flu.
MEGAN:           I think that I might be getting the flu.

I Have a Honda

David:  Do you have a car?
John:   Yes, I do.
David:  What kind of car do you have?
John:   I have a Honda.
David:  Is it new?
John:   It was new in 2003.
David:  So, it’s pretty old now.
John:   Yes, it is. But it still looks good.
David:  Do you take good care of it?
John:   Oh, yes. I wash it once a week.
David:  Do you change the oil?
John:   My mechanic changes the oil twice a year.

The 99 Cents Store

JANE:  Well, I got a lot of good deals, as usual.
EVE:  Like what?
JANE:  Well, a dozen large eggs were only 99 cents.
EVE:  That’s a good deal.
JANE:  And a one-pound tub of soft butter was the same price.
EVE:  Another good deal.
JANE:  But the best deal was five pounds of potatoes for 99 cents.
EVE:  I don’t know how that store makes money.
JANE:  Neither do I, but they’re doing something right.
