My Laptop Is So Slow




CARLA:        My laptop is so slow.
ALVIN:          Buy a new one. 
CARLA:        I would if I had the money.
ALVIN:          Why is it so slow?
CARLA:        That’s a good question.
ALVIN:          Did you take it to a computer shop?
CARLA:        I would if I had the money.
ALVIN:          Well, I guess you have to live with it.
CARLA:        Sometimes I want to throw it out the window.
ALVIN:          You don’t want to do that.
CARLA:        Why not?
ALVIN:          You might hit someone in the head.

Mr. Ross:   May I see a hat, please?
Salesman:  What size do you take?
Mr. Ross:  I’m sorry. I don’t know.
Salesman:  I’ll measure you…You take size 6.
                  What color hat would you like?
Mr. Ross:  Brown, please.
Salesman:  Here are some nice brown hats.
                  Try this hat on. It’s very good one.
Mr. Ross:  Yes, I like this one. It goes very
                  well with my coat. How much is it?
Salesman:  It’s $9.95(nine dollars and ninety-five cents).

A TV Lover

A: You’re watching too much TV.
B: What do you mean?
A: I mean you’re wasting your life.
B: I’m having fun.
A: You’re sitting there with your mouth open.
B: Who cares?
A: I care. Do something.
B: Okay. I did something.
A: What did you do?
B: I turned up the volume.
A: That’s not what I meant by “do something.”
B: Will you do something? Leave me alone.

Piano Player

He played the piano. He played it very well. He started playing the piano when he was six years old. That was seven years ago. Now he was 13 years old. He was very good. He won one piano contest after another. A famous piano teacher heard him play the piano. The teacher said, “I want to bring you to New York. I will teach you how to be even better. I will teach you how to be the best piano player in the whole world.” He didn’t like that idea. He wanted to stay at home. He wanted to stay with his parents and his friends. His parents wanted him to go. They said they would visit him in New York every weekend.

There are seven continents on our planet. Australia is one of the most interesting continents. Twenty one million people live in Australia. They speak English. The weather in Australia is hot and sunny. There are many interesting animals in Australia. Dingoes are dogs but they don’t live with people. They are wild and you can see them in the desert. Kangaroos and koalas live in Australia too. They carry their babies in a special pocket. Koalas are grey and have big ears. They can climb trees. Kangaroos are bigger and have very strong legs. They can jump high and run very fast. They don’t eat meat. They like to eat vegetables and grass.

Let’s Not Go Out

A: I hate to go outside.
B: Me too.
A: Why do you hate to go outside?
B: I meet too many jerks.

B: This city is full of jerks.
A: Rude people are everywhere.
B: But what can you do?

B: And they will yell back at you.
